Natural or man made disasters, political, religious and ethnic instability, have led to the highest number of refugees and displaced people ever. Such situations may arrive suddenly and without warning.
In preparation to meet situations like this, the Norwegian Board of Health developed Recovery Camp for domestic and international use.
Recovery Camp is intended as an emergency shelter and care unit for 500 people suffering from exhaustion.
The concept is based on centralized service and care, and is therefore dependent upon local staff and expatriates to run the camp in cooperation with the refugees themselves
